The joy of sharing my Deepavali Gift

A friend of mine wished me Happy Deepavali for next twelve years starting with this year,

Another one wished me to be blessed with 16 fortunes as defined by Indian mythology,

There was an offer for CASH defined as C- care, A-affection, S-smiles and H-hugs,

There were fountain crackers and butterflies wishing colourful Deepavali through SMS

The wishes came from north, east, south and west surrounding me in all directions

The close ones called me over phone to express the best wishes and get wished spontaneously

The air and ether are filled with waves of happy wishes available to all and in plenty

Now it is my turn to share all these with all those whom I meet through this post,

When we earn more we get tuned to share and become joyous in giving and sharing

It appears that festivals are there to give and share and not to look for what we get.

Let me be blessed with the joy of sharing that is eternal and could even be immortal.

( The 16 fortunes are 1. Education, 2. Intelligence,3. Longevity,4.Skills,5.Youth 6. Courage 7.Pride,8.Gold,9.Materials,10.Fame, 11.Land,12.Good children, 13.Good habits, 14.Good health,15. Great attitude and 16.Success)

The WhatsApp Groups

The WhatsApp Groups . WhatsApp has become very popular next to Facebook for the conveniences it offers. The one factor that defeated Internet Explorer is that all the messages will be downloaded to the computer system before one can read or reply. Peculiarly the same factor made WhatsApp popular. There is the troublesome side of WhatsApp too. The trouble might come easily through "WhatsApp groups".The groups are useful to some extent for fast communications but are troublesome also. Suddenly one of   our acquaintances who happen to be an admin of a group, might add us to a group, many times without our permissions. There exits an option to leave the group. But we find some messages, some memes or some videos interesting and so we stick on to that group. We ourselves sometimes think that we can comment for the postings. We think that it will be a contribution of a great idea or an appreciation that will make us popular. Right appreciations do make us popular. But...

The beliefs that drive people( For those who are interested in “Why')

April 24,2012 was celebrated as Akshaya Thrithiyai a festival recently rediscovered to buy gold. It all started five years ago when a smart jeweler in our town caught hold of a so called Prohit to sow a belief that will boost his sales. A Prohit is a person who projects himself to have great knowledge of Hindu rituals and dresses him self in distinctly peculiar ways, fore head shaved and the hair left to grow long on the back is tied in a knot. They wear some religious marks on the temple either three horizontal bands of holy ash or a white U or Y mark having a red line in the middle. Just as one does not question an automobile mechanic, people in India do not question these Prohits also. It is understood that there are some Veda Schools that teach the authentic techniques for the popular rituals and the Vedic rhymes that are to be chanted as mantras during the rituals. But most of these Prohits do not study there. They gain the knowledge of these mantras from some senior Prohit. Th...

MEDITATION

I learnt Transcendental Meditation(TM) through the institute of Guruji Mahesh Yogi. Then I learnt Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY) taught by Guruji Vedathri Maharishi. All these I did 25 years ago. I have read the topics on meditation written by Swami Vivekananda, Swami Jugi Vasudev and also browsed through some chapters by Pathanchali Maharishi, Osho and also J. Krishnamoorthy. You may ask me why I am not satisfied with the first technique TM. Transcendental Meditation bring inner peace by focusing the mind initially on a mantra then reaching a state of no thoughts. This they say will be blissful happiness. I was not convinced because to escape from the real world and to stay away did not convince me. In SKY the mind is focused on the tip of the spinal cord called the Mooladhara Chakra and the energy dormant there is raised to the fore head. One could feel a mild pressure between the eye brows and observing this will calm down ones mind. A calm mind is capable of concentration....
